Losing weight in a stressed state is like building a house with leaves and sticks--it's quick, it works--yet, it will never last.

Healthy weight loss comes when the body is healthy. Trying to lose weight prior to this will push the body back into a "stressed state". A stressed state comes with feeling anxious and/or depressed, crappy sleep, no libido, digestive problems, PMS or severe menopausal symptoms, hair falling out, low energy, low mood, cold hands and feet, etc.

Now, I KNOW this is one of the hardest things to wrap your head around when you are trying to heal and have weight to lose. Nobody wants additional weight on them.

I get this.

However, if your body has been struggling to perform its "healthy" duties (poop, sleep, digest, grow hair, be able to function through out the day, have a period, or an erection, warm up), then trying to feed it less or move it more, for quick weight loss, is only going to create more dysfunction in the body.

Stressing weight off of you (extreme dieting, excessive exercise, not eating, etc.) does work. Yet, it will NEVER give you the healthy body and metabolism you desire. NEVER.

Trust me, I have tried to STRESS weight off of me 50 different times, only to rebound every single time, making the next extreme weight loss venture, even more challenging.

IT. IS. NEVER. WORTH. IT. At least, in the long game of health.

Building a house of sticks and leaves (excessive dieting, over exercising, stress) is never going to give you the strength and longevity of a house (body) that has been assembled with great materials (food), patiences (rest), a great architecture (food and movement plan), great contractors (self love) and TIME.

Take the time to heal your body. Once the body is healthy, (Sleeps through the night, pain free period, good digestion, good mood, energy all day, hair growth, desire for sex, etc.) moving more or creating a slight calorie deficient will not CRUSH your body (twig house) and HEALTHY weight loss will start to occur. It might take a bit longer, but once your body is in healthy place, the body you build, can last you for a life time...
